An Android story adventure

Your real-world activity moves the game forward.

TaleActive is a classic text adventure style game linked to what you do away from the screen. Walking in the real world builds Momentum for ordinary travel and also helps unlock longer routes to places farther away. Stairs and exercise prepare you for Climbing and Strength Challenges.

A normal day keeps you moving. Do a little more than your own average and you can reach the next part of the story sooner.

You choose how active to be.There are no failed days or broken streaks. Less activity just means progressing more slowly that day.

What actually happens

Real activity becomes something you can use in the game.

Walking and stairs are picked up as you go about your day. Other exercises can be recorded when you choose to do them.

01Walking

Walk with your phone during the day.

Builds Momentum and Walking readiness

Momentum pays for ordinary travel. Walking readiness unlocks longer routes to places farther away.

Your normal walking counts. Walk a little more and you can travel farther or open the next route sooner.

02Climbing

Take stairs or do lower-body exercise.

Builds Climbing readiness

Unlocks Climbing Challenges such as the Highmere cliff steps to the upper green.

Suitable activity includes stairs, sit-to-stands, squats, and lunges.

03Strength

Do upper-body exercise.

Builds Strength readiness

Unlocks Strength Challenges such as pushing a heavy gate open or moving boxes out of the way.

Upper-body exercises such as curls and presses build this readiness.

Based on your day

It starts with what is normal for you.

TaleActive is meant to nudge you a little beyond your usual day, then adjust as that extra activity becomes part of your routine. The reward is straightforward: you get through the game faster.

Your normal dayProgress
A little extraFaster progress
1

It learns your average day over time

The game uses your own completed days as its starting point. It does not give everyone the same step target.

2

A normal day still counts

Your usual activity keeps the game moving. A quiet or difficult day is not a failure; progress is simply slower.

3

A little extra speeds things up

Walk a little farther, take the stairs, or do some exercise and you can reach more of the story sooner.

4

It adjusts gradually

As being slightly more active becomes normal for you, the game adapts. The aim is to build a routine slowly, not force a sudden change.

The first adventure

Morrow Isle

You are on the 11:02 to London for a job interview when the train makes a stop at Brinewick-on-Sea that makes no sense. The doors open. This is not London.

Step onto the platform and explore Morrow Isle. Follow clues, question the people you meet, decide where to go, and solve the strange mystery of why the train stopped here and what is happening across the island. Your choices—and your real-world activity—shape how you investigate it.
